What to look for on Smart Talk Tuesday, December 15, 2015:

There are certain diseases and medical conditions that historically have brought on a sense of fear just by the mention of their names. Small pox and tuberculosis were two of them until vaccines were developed and they were successfully treated. Cancer was and still is another word that sends a shudder through someone hearing the diagnosis. However, mention Alzheimer’s Disease to someone today and it is sure to get a response.

About 5.3 million Americans have been diagnosed with the most common form of dementia and the numbers are growing. That’s because we’re living longer and the older a person is, the better their chances are for developing Alzheimer’s.

Losing memories, independence and possibly dignity is a frightening thought.

Alzheimers and caregiving are the topics we’ll address on Tuesday’s Smart Talk with Dr. Barry Wentland of Senior Life of York.

I was charged with theft by extortion, a 3rd degree felony which carries a possible sentence of 7 years in prison and 15,000 in fines. Against my better judgement, I took the advice of Stephen and pled guilty for a reduced sentence. I hired Eric for someone who was facing serious felony charges. He is a fairly young man with a young child who he absolutely adores.
