Erie police took a 16-year-old boy into custody following a car chase and foot chase late Wednesday night on the city’s east side.

Police said the car chase started when officers spotted a suspected stolen vehicle near East 21st and French Streets. The ensuing car chase ended near East 23rd and Parade streets at about 11 p.m.

Police said the 16-year-old boy ran from the vehicle and led police on a foot chase. Police apprehended the boy, who was tased by officers.

The boy was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment.
