Man shot in parking lot behind State Street business

A 25-year-old man was shot once in the abdomen Wednesday afternoon in a parking lot behind the Heads of State Barbershop, 1711, State St., Erie police said.

The man was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment of injuries that are not life threatening, police said.

The shooting was reported at 4:59 p.m.

Police said the man was shot in a parking lot behind the State Street business and entered the barber shop for help.

Police said they are looking for a male suspect who fled the scene. Police did not have a description of the suspect.
