The accident happened around 7:30 this morning on Route 20 between Manchester and Swanville Road.  A car traveling eastbound crossed the westbound lanes, taking out a utility pole, bringing down high tension wires.

The driver was able to free himself from the wreckage.  Fire crews and utility companies worked to get things back in order.

“Right now the utility company is trying to get the poles reset and get the utilities up and running,” said Assistant Chief, Lawrence Biggie, of the Fairview Fire Department.

The road reopened two hours after the accident, once the wires were suspended high enough over the roadway.
