Attorney Hackwelder attended Clarion University and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Attorney Hackwelder then attended Western Michigan’s Thomas M. Cooley College of Law and graduated in 2001.

Attorney Hackwelder has devoted his career to the representation of people regarding various legal issues. His tenacity and aggressive style has shown him to be successful and sought after in the fields of Criminal Law, Family Law, Children Services Law, and Litigation.

Attorney Hackwelder began his career as a Law Clerk to President Judge Ernest J. DiSantis, Jr. and then as an Assistant District Attorney in Erie County, PA. He then moved on to the role as a solicitor for the Erie County Office of Children and Youth. Attorney Hackwelder’s background gives him the necessary trial success and experience required to achieve the best results possible.

I was charged with theft by extortion, a 3rd degree felony which carries a possible sentence of 7 years in prison and 15,000 in fines. Against my better judgement, I took the advice of Stephen and pled guilty for a reduced sentence. Attorney Sebald represented me in 2005 for a DUI. So when I was facing legal problems again in 2015 for getting 3 DUI's in a 5 month period due to an addiction to alcohol I knew I needed him to represent me again. I hired Eric for someone who was facing serious felony charges. He is a fairly young man with a young child who he absolutely adores. He had made mistakes and I didn't feel he needed to go to jail and be separated from that child.
