ERIE, Pa. — Prosecutors have dropped the most serious charge against an Erie man accused by city police of delivering suspected heroin in the city earlier this month.

Raheem T. Farmer, 21, waived misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia to court during his preliminary hearing before Erie 5th Ward District Judge Paul Bizzarro on Wednesday afternoon. Prosecutors withdrew a felony count of possession with intent to deliver that Erie police also filed against him in the Sept. 1 incident.

Farmer remains in the Erie County Prison on $50,000 bond.

Police accused Farmer of delivering the suspected heroin in the 1900 block of Woodlawn Avenue in an undercover buy, while investigators were doing surveillance.
